As part of the Direct Bill family, you can take advantage
of our advanced data technologies, especially the
Direct Correction Software. Once data is submitted
to Direct Bill we purge the data through Direct
Process. One process eliminates undeliverable addresses,
another corrects them, and the last makes sure the
person related to the data record hasn't moved.
These corrections and updates are processed and
completed before the record is actually printed;
saving you returned mail costs while keeping your
information accurate. To maintain high levels
of data integrity, we setup communication links
that allow your programs to accept our updated
information through Direct Update. This keeps
both your records accurate and current.
Direct Updates are received via e-mail and have
transaction information contained within the e-mail.
The e-mail is processed in conjunction with Direct
Correct and is validated through our Direct Process
Technology. The following information is provided
in e-mail update:
Balance Filter Deleted
Is a record base of all accounts that have balances meeting the criteria
listed in Direct Filter Balance Filter as rejection
criteria. These rejected debtor records are returned
in a tab delimited text file to be uploaded into
your current data management software.
Closed States
Is a record base of all accounts that have
moved into a state that was listed by the client
as a closed state for mailing. These records were
removed from the database because returned mail
would have resulted. These addresses are returned
in a tab delimited text file to be uploaded into
your current data management software.
Coded Corrections
Is a record base of all coded corrections
made to uploaded record files. Coded corrections
can include wrong zip codes, improper street names,
wrong suites, lots, and apartment numbers. These
corrections are returned in a tab delimited text
file to be uploaded into your current data management
software.
Moved With Forwarding Address
Is a record base of accounts that have moved with forwarding addresses. These
addresses were implemented at time of data processing.
These new addresses are placed in a tab delimited
text file for you to import into your data management
software.
Not Deliverable No forwarding
Is a record base of accounts
that have non-deliverable and non-forwarding addresses
available. These records were removed from the
database because return mail would have resulted.
These incorrect addresses are returned in a tab
delimited text file to be uploaded into your current
data management software.
Moved With No Forwarding Address
Is a record base of accounts that have moved with no forwarding address. These
records were removed from the database because
return mail would have resulted. These addresses
are returned in a tab delimited text file to be
uploaded into your current data management software.
PO Box Closed
Is a record base of all accounts that have
moved with no forwarding address. These records
were removed from the database because return
mail would have resulted. These incorrect addresses
are returned in a tab delimited text file to be
uploaded into your current data management software.
Word Filter Deleted
Is a record base of all accounts that
contain a word(s) listed in Direct Filter “Word
Filter” as rejection criteria. These rejected
debtor records are returned in a tab delimited
text file to be uploaded into your current data
management software.
The e-mail sent with statistical information only contains
a text type of report. All data and corrections are
stored in the Direct Update Module at Direct Bill.
The Direct Update notification actually contains a link
that forwards your browser to the Direct Update download
site. This site requires your username and password. This
link is encrypted using Direct Secure Protocols and
128-Bit Encryption Technology. Once the client has successfully
entered the required username and password, downloading of
the updates can commence.
Text Download Format
Direct Bill's standard Direct Update file is set in tab-delimited form.
Each individual record is placed on individual rows within a text file.
A tab space is placed between each data field. This format is the most
widely used status.
Excel Download Format
Direct Bill now offers Excel download formats. When a file is ready for
download, click the "Export" option and the update file is translated into
an Excel format. This format can be viewed by the popular Microsoft
program, Excel.
