Welcome to the International Utilities Revenue
Protection Association (IURPA) web site. IURPA
was founded in 1990 and consists of revenue protection
professionals dedicated to reducing revenue loss
in the utility industry. Losses addressed by this
association primarily deal with energy theft,
however, revenue protection’s responsibility
encompasses a variety of areas. The purpose of
revenue protection in general is to benefit consumers,
stockholders and energy service providers. IURPA’s
role is to gather and share information amongst
it’s members for the benefit of all.

Edison Electric Institute

National Association
of Electrical Distributors
Since 1908, the National Association of Electrical
Distributors (NAED) has served as the trade association
for the electrical distribution industry. NAED
is a 501(c)6 not-for-profit organization dedicated
to serving and protecting the electrical distribution
channel. As part of that mission, NAED provides
networking opportunities through approximately
50 meetings & conferences a year, training
and research through the NAED Education &
Research Foundation, industry information and
research through TED Magazine, and a marketing
campaign for the industry through the NAED Advocacy
Initiative.

Electric Utility Service
Equipment Requirements Committee
EUSERC was formed in 1983 when the Southern California
group PUSERC (formed in 1947) and the Northern
California group WUESSC (formed in 1950) merged.
At this time there were approximately 40 utilities
involved. There are now 80 utilities involved
in EUSERC from 12 states. The purpose of the organization
is to promote uniform electric service requirements
among the member utilities, publish existing utility
service requirements for electric service equipment
and provide direction for development of future
metering technology. EUSERC's goal is to support
the development of metering and service equipment
that is safe and cost effective to the serving
agencies and their customers, and to establish
manufacturing and installation requirements for
metering and service equipment that are acceptable
to all member utilities.

Automatic Meter Reading
Association
AMRA is a nonprofit association providing utilities
information about innovative technologies that
lead to improved operations, customer service
and resource utilization. Its membership represents
more than 800 international utilities and corporations
in gas, water and electric industries. AMRA members
develop and implement automated resource-management
technologies as well as participate in standardization
and regulatory activities.

The Heartland Metermans Association (HMA) was
formed in the fall of 1993 and has held quarterly

Association
Public power is a collection of more than 2,000
community-owned electric utilities, serving over
43 million people or about 14 percent of the nation's

National Rural Electric
Cooperative Association
National Rural Electric Cooperative Association
(NRECA) is the national service organization dedicated
to representing the national interests of cooperative
electric utilities and the consumers they serve.
The NRECA Board of Directors oversees the association’s
activities and consists of 47 members, one from
each state in which there is an electric distribution
cooperative. The chief spokesman for the nation’s
electric cooperatives is NRECA Chief Executive
Officer Glenn English.
